Ana Rita Peralta
EEG, Sleep Studies

Ana Rita Peralta obtained her medical degree and Master degree in Neuroscience at the University of Lisbon Medical School. She was later specialized in Neurology at Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon, where she also obtained Neurophysiology and Sleep training. She has the Somnologist title by European Sleep Research Society and the competence in Sleep Medicine from the Portuguese Medical Association. She currently works Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon, mostly involved in Sleep, Epilepsy and Neurophysiology, and as a teaching Assistant at the University of Lisbon Medical School. Her main area of interest, for both clinical and research, is sleep in neurological disorders.

Clara Santos

Clara Santos obtained her Bachelor's degree in Neurophysiology at Escola Técnica dos Serviços de Saúde de Coimbra. In 1997 she also obtnaied her degree in Psychology at Faculdade de Psicologia e Ciências da Educação da Universidade de Coimbra. She's currently working at Centro Hospital e Universitário de Coimbra as technical Coordinator for the Neurophysiology Technicians.

In 2014 she took the first grandparenting examination of Somnologist Technologists, commissioned by the ESRS  in Tallinn on 16 and 17 September 2014 during the 22nd Congress of the European Sleep Research Society

João Ramalheira
EEG. Sleep Studies

João Ramalheira currently works at Hospital Santo António (HSA)/Centro Hospitalar do Porto (CHP) and he's responsible by enumerous valences such as Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (UME) and brain SPECT (functional image).

He is part of Epilepsy Consultation / Refractory Epilepsy Consultation, Epilepsy Surgery Group / Epilepsy Unit (National and European Reference Center) and Department of Neurophysiology / Department of Neuroscience.

Academically he's a former trainee in Paris, Hôpital Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, Service of Neuropediatrie (Child Epilepsy); former intern in Paris, Hôpital Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, Service d'Explorations Foncionnelles Neurologiques du Systeme Nerveux (Pediatric Neurophysiology); former intern / Scholarship holder in Orsay (France), Commissariat à l'Énergie Athomique - CEA / Center Hospitalier Frédéric Joliot (SPECT, PET, SISCOM, Metabolic and Functional Image of the SNC); former trainee in London at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery ("Nervous Diseases" - "Queen Square"); former trainee in Chalfont, UK at the Chalfont Center for Epilepsy., HSA / CHP., HSA / CHP.

Areas of major interest (adults and children): Epilepsy, Sleep, EEG, Invasive monitoring with IC electrodes, SEEG, Functional Imaging (SPECT, SISCOM and PET), Epilepsy Pharmacology, Epilepsy Surgery, PSG, MSLT, Sleep Disorders.

Marta Gonçalves

Marta Gonçalves is MD Psychiatry with a Master's Degree in Psychiatry and Mental Health - University of Porto School of Medicine; Currently PhD student in Public Health in University of Porto. Invited teacher of Sleep Medicine for the Doctorate Degree in Clinical Neurosciences, Neuropsychiatry and Mental Health - University of Porto Medical School. 

She's a Certified Expert Somnologist – 2012, ESRS. Sleep Medicine Competency by the Medical Association 2014. Member of the Commission for Sleep Medicine Competency nominated by the Portuguese Medical Association in 2012 . Scientific Consultant of the National Program for Respiratory Diseases (sleep apnea) 2012 from the Directorate General of Health.

Head of Psychiatry Department and Sleep Medicine Center in the Hospital CUF Porto since 2011.

President of the Portuguese Sleep Association during 2008/2013. Member of the EU Committee of the European Sleep Research Society since 2012-2016. Board Member of ESRS 2014-2016. Member of the Executive Committee of Assembly of National Sleep Societies (EC-ANSS) 2012-2016. Member of the Sleep Medicine Committee of ESRS since 2017.

Rosa Santos
Sleep Studies

Rosa Santos obtained her Bachelor's degree in Neurophysiography at ESTESL, 1985.

She worked in Laboratório EEG Hospital Júlio de Matos - 1985-2001.

She's currently working in Neurology CHLN (H. Sta Maria) since 2001 as a Coordinating Technique of Neurophysiology of CHLN.

Master's Degree in Sleep Science (not completed).

Pedro Guimarães
EEG, Sleep Studies

Pedro Guimarães licensed by Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto (2000-2006). He did his Complementary Internship in the Neurology Service of the Hospital do Centro de Trás os Montes e Alto Douro (2008-2013), and the Cycle of Special Studies in Clinical Neurophysiology at Centro Hospitalar do Porto (2015-2017).
He has several papers presented and published: Epilepsy, Sleep, Neurophysiology, Epidemiology of Neurological Diseases, and also several projects of Clinical Research in Neurological Diseases.

He's currently Hospital Assistant in Neurology since 2013 at Centro Hospitalar de Trás os- Montes e Alto Douro.
