João Parracho Costa

João Parracho Costa graduated in Medicine (School of Medicine, University of Lisbon) in 1998 and he practiced as a General practitioner from 1999 to 2000.

In 2006 he became specialist in Neurology and later in Clinical Neurophysiology and in Clinical Pharmacology. Currently, he practices medicine in Hospital da Luz SA, Lisbon, Portugal.

After finishing his graduation, he got the following academic degrees and titles:

- Master of Neurosciences (University of Lisbon)

- Master of Neurological Electrodiagnosis (University of Barcelona)

- Doctor of Medicine, Discipline of Neurology (University of Lisbon)

- Postdoctoral Research Fellowship by CIBERNED (Spain Ministry of Health)

His major current positions are:

- Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics at School of Medicine, University of Lisbon (where he teaches Clinical Pharmacology to both under and postgraduate students)

- Vice-Director of the Center for Evidence-Based Medicine at School of Medicine, University of Lisbon

- Coordinator Editor of the Cochrane Movement Disorders Group

- Coordinator Director of the Portuguese Cochrane Branch

- Principal Investigator at the Clinical Pharmacology Unit and at the Translational Clinical Physiology Unit of the Institute of Molecular Medicine (Lisbon, Portugal)

José Augusto Mendes Ribeiro

José Augusto Mendes Ribeiro has been since 1998 a full-time Clinical Neurophysiologist and since 2005 Clinical Neurophysiology  Consultant in the Neurophysiology Department in S. Joao Hospital, Porto.

His main recent clinical interests are on topics including brain monitoring in the critically ill in the neonatal, pediatric and adult ICUs and Pediatric Video-EEG monitoring.

Mamede de Carvalho

Mamede de Carvalho obtained his qualification as Medical Doctor in 1985 at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He later specialized in Neurology and Neurophysiology.

He currently works in the Neurosciences Department at Hospital Santa Maria - Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Norte.

He also is Vice-Dean of Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa; Professor of Physiology and Director Physiology Institute – Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa; Group Leader - Instituto de Medicina Molecular; Director of Neuromuscular Unit – Centro Hospitalar Lisboa-Norte/Hospital de Santa Maria; Co-coordinator of the Neurosciences Master/Doctoral Degree of Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa; Co-coordinator of the Lisbon University Doctoral Program in Integrative Neurosciences - Universidade de Lisboa.

Manuel Dílio Pimenta Alves

Dílio Alves obtained his degree in Medicine at Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto in 1974.

In January of 1984 he specialized in Neurology (Hospital Geral de Santo António).

He became Hospital Assistant of Neurology at V. N. Gaia Hospital in 1984/85 and Hospital Maria Pia from 1985 to 1996.

He obtained the equalization to the cycle of special studies of Neurophysiology in May 1993, and in 1997 his Neurophysiology Degree.

He's currently responsible for the Neurophysiology Unit of the Neurology Service of Hospital São João since 2011.

He's also Coordinator of the Reference Center for Refractory Epilepsy since 2016; member of the Board of the Portuguese Society of Neurology 2005-2007; member of the Board of the Portuguese League Against Epilepsy until 2005.

Mariana Pereira
EMG, EPs, Therapeutics

Mariana Pereira obtained her graduation in Neurophysiology at Escola Superior de Saúde in 2014. In 2016 she also obtained her master's degree in Neurosciences at Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa.

Since 2016 she is assistent professor at Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa.

She is currently attending her master's degree in Medicine.

Rui Braga

Rui Braga obtained his degree in Neurophysiology - Escola Superior de Saúde do Porto - 2002. He is attending Master in Medicine - Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto

In 2013 he obtained the title of Specialist in Neurophysiology.

He's currently professor of Escola Superior de Saúde do Porto - IPP - Clinical Physiology Courses - Regent of the Electromyography and Evoked Potentials chairs.

Professional activity: Neurophysiologist in the Company "Neurografia", working in the areas of Electromyography and Evoked Potentials in several public and private hospitals, namely in the group Hospital da Luz, Trofa Saúde and Hospital entre Douro e Vouga (Hospital S. Sebastião-Santa Maria da Feira).
